About Me
I grew up in the small town of Moravia, Iowa. I was involved in everything music--concert band, jazz band, marching band (drum majorette, 2 years), show choir, choir, school musical, the list goes on! I had the opportunity to play a variety of sports and particpate in academic bowl. After high school, I attended Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri and received my Bachelor of Arts in Music and Master of Arts in Education. At Truman, I was a member of Jazz Ensemble, marching band (Go Statesmen!), Wind Symphony, and a saxophone quartet. I began teaching music at King City in the 2020-2021 school year. I currently reside in St. Joseph with my husband and cats. My primary instrument is the saxophone but I can play Hot Cross Buns on anything! I have primarily studied music and education under Lise Nelson, Bernie Allgood, Tim AuBuchon, Dr. Randall Smith, and Dr. Jocelyn Stevens.
